Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses fine, sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. These points lie along pathways called meridians, which are thought to influence the flow of Qi—your body’s vital energy. By restoring balance and promoting the smooth flow of Qi, acupuncture can support the body’s natural healing processes. From a modern perspective, acupuncture is believed to affect the nervous system, circulation, and the release of endorphins, helping to reduce pain, improve function, and regulate body systems. It is commonly used for a wide range of concerns, including pain, stress, fertility, digestive health, and sleep issues.

Chinese Herbal Medicine
Chinese herbal medicine is a core part of Traditional Chinese Medicine that uses plant, mineral, and sometimes animal-based substances to restore balance and support the body’s natural healing. Formulas are carefully combined to address each person’s unique pattern of symptoms, rather than just treating a single condition. Herbs can nourish, strengthen, clear, or regulate the body depending on what is needed. They are often prescribed as teas, powders, pills, or tinctures, and can be tailored to change as your health shifts. Chinese herbal medicine is commonly used for issues such as fertility, digestion, sleep, stress, pain, and overall wellbeing.

Moxibustion
Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine therapy that involves burning dried mugwort (called moxa) near or on specific acupuncture points. The gentle heat helps to warm the channels, move Qi and blood, and support the body’s natural healing processes. It is often used to improve circulation, boost energy, relieve pain, and support digestive or reproductive health. Moxibustion can be especially helpful for conditions linked to cold or stagnation, such as period pain, fatigue, or breech presentation in pregnancy. The treatment feels warming and relaxing, and is sometimes combined with acupuncture for enhanced benefit.

Cupping/Gua Sha
Cupping and gua sha are traditional Chinese medicine techniques that help improve circulation, release muscle tension, and support the body’s natural healing. Cupping uses glass or plastic cups to create gentle suction on the skin, drawing blood flow to the area and relieving tightness or stagnation. Gua sha involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to stimulate circulation and reduce inflammation. Both treatments can feel deeply relieving and are often used for muscle pain, stiffness, stress, and respiratory conditions. They work by promoting the smooth flow of Qi and blood, helping the body release tension and recover more effectively.
